Experience
I have a dynamic teaching style. Lessons are geared to the specific learning style of each student, and I work at their pace. I like to incorporate the student's interests into the lesson to make it more fun and personal. I want students to have an appreciation for the subject, whether it is humanities or math, and a strong work ethic. I have tutored students in literature and reading for three years. I have volunteered as a tutor for underprivileged youth, helping them with college prep and SAT test prep. I am also quite interested in the arts and culture, which is why I teach many subjects from music theory to religious studies. I like to lead students through challenging texts and help them with essay writing. I have a B.A. in Music and Philosophy from Fordham University. I enjoy writing and reading literature, following politics and current events, playing video games, listening and composing music, film, and hiking.I tutor a wide variety of subjects in the humanities, including performing arts (IB theatre HL, IB theatre SL, IB music HL, IB music SL, and music theory) and reading and writing (essay editing, literature, grammar and mechanics, college essays, and IB extended essay). I also tutor test prep (SAT math, writing, and critical reading), social sciences, AP government & politics, AP comparative government and politics, AP United States history, social studies, and others.
